32) FLIGHT EQUIPMENT
There are two main manufacturers of air ambulance equipment, LifePort and Spectrum. Each brand has a unique design and considerations.
LifePort AeroSled:
The LifePort AeroSled has an adjustable base and sits atop two pedestals. These pedestals do not span the width of the stretcher which causes instability. These pedestals can also catch on the surface of the pram. This type of flight stretcher requires more lifting during offloading to clear gaps on the pram.

LifePort ClipDeck:
The ClipDeck is a component of the LifePort system that is used to help secure the flight stretcher to the pram. Use of the ClipDeck varies by flight program and is not required. If the ClipDeck is used, care must be taken to ensure that it is placed properly on the pram. Improper placement can result in instability.

The straps on the ClipDeck are insufficient to secure the flight stretcher to the pram. Secure the flight stretcher as described below.
Spectrum Aeromed:
The Spectrum Aeromed flight stretcher has a more uniform bottom that slides on the pram surface without catching.
